The purpose of writing Minhagei Lita is twofold. First, is to clarify for present and future generations the authentic customs of Lithuanian Jewry in prayer and in common Jewish practice. The second purpose is to highlight the Torah true approach and values that form teh underpinnings of Minhagei Lita, and draw from the valuable lessons for today's attitudes and approach to halachah.
